Capt. Ken Manzoni
Ken Manzoni has extensive charter experience, having spent the past 15 years as a Licensed U.S. Coast Guard 100 ton Merchant Marine Master. He has a BA in Environmental Studies and an advanced degree in Scientific Communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He provided on-the-water production support for two major motion pictures: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. He was the ship foreman for the reconstruction of the H.M.S. Surprise used in Master & Commander, which is currently part of the historic collection of ships at the San Diego Maritime Museum. Ken is also a championship sailor, who skippered the Southwestern Yacht Club’s Lipton Cup Team to victory in 2008.

Ray is a CG licensed Master (Captain) and has extensive experience in sailing, powerboating, sailboarding, canoeing, and kayaking as well as teaching water sports. He is currently a US SAILING Instructor Trainer in Powerboating, Small Boat Sailing, Keelboat sailing, and Sailboarding. He retired as Regional Director of Sailing and Camping for the Southwest Navy Region in 2002. Ray has been driving RIBs for over 25 years and is also a successful sailboat racing skipper and coach. As a native San Diegan, he has an tremendous amount of local knowledge to share with Adventure Rib passengers during Bay tours as well as over 30 years of Whale watching experience.
